Tri-Span 5K & 10K 2022 2023

Short review

Be a part of one of the oldest and most iconic races in Wilmington, NC.  

Join us for the the 40th Anniversary of the Tri-Span 5K and 10K.  

Both 5K and 10K courses wind through historic downtown Wilmington and along the picturesque Cape Fear Riverwalk which hugs the bank of the Cape Fear River.   The 5K is an out and back course through downtown Wilmington.  The 10K course is what makes Tri Span such a unique race.  Runners will have the opportunity to run the three downtown bridges.  The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will take runners across the Cape Fear River.   The Thomas Rhodes Bridge will give runners a birds eye view of the USS North Carolina and the downtown Wilmington riverfront.  Last, the Isabell Holmes bridge will cross back over the Cape Fear River and bring runners back into downtown Wilmington and to the finish line.  

If you can't make it person, but still want to be part of the fun join the Virtual Event and run your 5K or 10K anytime and anywhere (July 9 - July 10)

NEW for 2021 - Introducing the LIVESTRONG MILE.  Join us as we honor friends and family whose lives have been impacted by cancer.  This is a non-timed 1-mile walk or run and we invite everyone to participate.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
The race benefits the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Program. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE health and wellness program specifically designed for cancer survivors. Participants meet twice a week over a 12 week period and are led by three certified personal trainers through a well rounded program that includes a cardio, strength, and stretching/relaxation component, in a welcoming and supportive environment. The Y is honored to welcome and include cancer survivors and their families to our YMCA!
