*NOTE: YOU MAY REGISTER THE MORNING OF THE RACE, BUT CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.*

Please join us for the Together Against Trafficking 5k Walk/Run presented by Leadership Cabarrus at Frank Liske Park. The course at Frank Liske provides a challenging yet accessible route for both experienced racers and new runners. The race date of March 30 is perfect for those who started a beginner 5k program in the new year and those looking to kick off their spring running calendar.

Did you know that North Carolina is one of the top 10 states in the US for human trafficking and that the Charlotte area is #1 in the state? There are more than 300,000 teenage victims of sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking each year in the United States and yet, only 600 beds are available for women who have faced this kind of abuse. Few Cabarrus County residents know about the troubling prevalence of human trafficking in our community and how it occurs. Proceeds from the race will go to Present Age Ministries, a nonprofit committed to combating the sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking of teen girls.

Registration after March 8 will not guarantee a tshirt. Children 12 and under may join for free with a registered adult. Packet pickup will be available on the day of the race, beginning at 8am. Early pickup will be available on Friday, March 29 from 11:30am to 1:30pm and 3pm to 5pm at Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau, located at 10099 Weddington Rd Ext. Suite 102 in front of Great Wolf Lodge in Concord.

Please note: Along the course, we will be sharing facts related to human trafficking to give our community a better idea of what human trafficking is and is not, as well as the signs and red flags to look for. We will also have resources available to guide you in discussing this topic with your children in an age-appropriate way, should you choose to do so.
