THE BOWIE 5K RUN/WALK       --------  DATE & TIME:   Saturday September 11, 2021 @ 9:30am   Fun Run. 

5K RACE FEE: $30  ages 17-120     ---   $20 ages 7-16   NOTIFY STAFF WHICH RACE YOU ARE ENTERING WHEN YOU PICK UP RUN BIBS. 

 LOCATION : 709 E. Nelson St. Bowie Tx. 

5K Medals Awarded to: Overall Male Winner,  Overall Female Winner & categories : 10&under, 11-13, 14-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70& over.    1st, 2nd, & 3rd place medals in these categories.  non-sanctioned race.  

Give aways:  first 45 runners in the 5K will get a canvas tote bag.   All 5K runners will recieve t-shirts.  Run bibs. 

1 MILE RUN- 8:00 am. AGES 7-16 -   BOYS & GIRLS DIVISIONS  AGES 7-11 & 12-16 AWARDS= BOYS 1ST & 2ND PLACE.  (BOTH DIVISIONS) -   GIRLS 1ST & 2ND PLACE  (BOTH DIVISIONS). RUNNERS WHO DON'T PLACE WILL RECIEVE A PARTICIPATION MEDAL.   (NO T-SHIRTS)

DIRECTIONS: TRAVELING NORTH ON HWY 287 EXIT HWY 81 ( Wise st.) toward Bowie turn right onto Pelham St. (beside the Rodeo Grounds) turn left onto Nelson st. (2 blks) corner of Patterson & Nelson. TRAVELING SOUTH ON HWY 287 EXIT FM 174 (wise st) toward Bowie travel past 3 red lights to Rock St. turn left go to Nelson turn right.

THE BOWIE 5K
Yes. We are going ahead with the run. Our county is not a hot spot for covid19. Everything takes place outside. No food is served. Respect each others personal distancing space. We may run it more like a cross country run to reduce crowding at the starting line or space out down the street giving up 2-3 seconds for timing. If you are sick dont come, or been exposed stay home. You are responsible so act responsible. Come early if you haven't preregistered. If there is crowding at registration we may make the line spread out and if you cant reach the table before our time requirement you may get cut out of registration. Sanitizer will be at various spots so seek it out and scrub. Restrooms are available but we ask you spray the room before you leave. Will not be satellite timing due to too many not preregistering. Will run it like a fun run and run to stay healthy. We are giving place medals for overall winners and age group places. We want preregistration but for those who cant manipulate the online instructions we will let some register at two sites - True Health & Fitness and Eagle Auto Parts. 

Thank you for your interest in the sport of running. THE BOWIE 1 MILE is an added feature to this event. Keep supporting us and we may add a 10k next year.
