Welcome to the Upstate Ultra Trail Series brought to you by the South Carolina Ultra Marathon Club. We are proud to bring in a series of events that range in distance, terrain, and season! But each race will always posses the same energy and positive atmosphere from our staff, volunteers, and S.C.U.M. Runners. Our club and its races are open to all runners, walkers, and hikers and each member will receive 20% OFF any Upstate Ultra event along with discounted club gear and local sponsors!  Join the club for 20% OFF all races - HERE Check out all of our other events - HERE   The Back 9  3-6-12-30 Hour Race   The Old Millstone Golf Course - September 18th 2021   The race series is proud to establish a scenic 2 Mile Loop (ALL ON CART PATH) around the Old Millstone Golf course on the west side of Greenville. NEW course, NEW location, with proceeds going to a NEW conservation effort at an old closed down golf course! Trees, rivers, ponds, beavers! No chance of a birdie on this course! The Ethos Project has recently purchased this 200 acre plot of land and placed it under a permanent protection conservation easement. A conservation easement is set of restrictions placed on a designated piece of land that prevents development or other substantial change in perpetuity. It is voluntary and unchangeable, and is designed to preserve and protect the property’s natural state. The course will offer a fast attempt at a distance PR. There will be water on site but no power so please bring solar or a quiet running generator if you need it. This will be a child out attempt to host runners of all abilities on a course that will soon be open to the public.    Events 30 Hour (The Driver) @ 7:00am 12 Hour (The Wood) @ 8:00am 6 Hour (The Sand wedge) @ 9:00am 3 Hour (The Putter) @ 10:00am   Packet Pickup Located adjacent to Start/Finish Line and parking area (See available Map) 75 minutes prior to race start No Packet Pickup prior to race date Must be present to receive apparel orders (no shipping) You will receive a bib that will be worn on the front of body You will receive a timing chip that MUST be returned at the end of your event ($10 replacement fee)   Connect With Us Facebook Group Facebook Page Facebook Photo Strava Club   Discounts and Membership All S.C.U.M (South Carolina Ultra Marathon) receive 20% OFF   Check out our other Races Upstate Ultra   Runner Resources Coaching & Training Plans: 10% OFF  Nutrition: First Shake FREE Apparel: 15% OFF & Free Shipping  Running Shoes: 15% OFF & Free Shipping Hydration: Tailwind at all Aid Stations   Back 9 Course Description Course Map HERE Elevation Per 2 Mile Loop - 200 Feet The course is held on a non profit land preserve. The course consist of a 2 mile loop on the back 9 of an old golf course on the west side of Greenville. The start and finish line is located near the driving range. Parking is adjacent to the driving range and runners will be able to set up a personal aid station right along the course. The loop in general, is flat and 4 feet wide with plenty of room to pass other runners. There is one main hill that will act as a walking section for most of our participants that lead you right back to the aid/station and parking lot. Along the course you will see plenty of wildlife, plant life, shade, rivers, and ponds! Runners are required to use a headlamp during night hours.    Race Swag Finisher Medal Upstate Ultra Sticker Upstate Ultra Apparel (Optional during Registration)   Race Awards Top 3 Male and Female will receive a custom hand made award! Each finisher will receive a finisher medal that will be branded with the race logo and custom lanyard. We will also publish our age group results that will coincide with our Race Series. There is a $5 fee per vehicle that is included in your registration. You will be able to set up a 10 x 10 personal aid station along the course near the start finish line and the parking lot throughout the event. You will be able to set up your area prior to the race start or on Friday from 4pm to 7pm. There will be water on site but no power so if you have a portable generator or solar lights that would be advised for overnight running. All runners must have a headlamp or flashlight during the night hours.    Aid Station We will have a basic aid station at the start/finish line of the race that includes water, tailwind, soda, cookies, crackers, and other sugary fixes! We gladly accept aid station donations of food items that you like to see at races. Our staff is very busy with course marking, timing, packet pickup, and communication with runners, that it does make it hard to prepare some amazing tasty treats in-between laps so feel free to contribute a little slice of heaven if you can! Thank you
