Short review
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. It's the time to speak on a subject that most people are hesitant to bring up. Let's use this time to raise awareness and reach out to those that have been affected by suicide or have suicidal ideation. Every year we lose too many people to suicide which leaves family, friends, co-workers with so many unanswered questions. Suicide can affect anyone at any age from any background. While suicidal thoughts are common, they shouldn't be considered normal and is a sign of some more serious issues. One of the problems is the feeling of shame and the stigma attached to it that keeps people from opening up. There is Zero Shame in asking for help! Why 130 Miles or 11 Minutes a Day? On average, there are 130 suicides per day which breaks down to every 11 minutes EVERY SINGLE DAY! If you know someone who is struggling, if you are struggling or if you have lost someone to suicide, there are many resources to get help. If you are in crisis or are experiencing difficult or suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273 TALK (8255) A portion of the proceeds will go to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). If you would like, you will be able to make an additional donation below.
