Short review

Yup, we see the wind forecast. That's one of the reasons we are changing the Friday night packet pickup to the Dorchester YMCA (201 Talbot Avenue, around the back side of the building). You should have gotten an email and, if not, please be sure to check out the EMAILS tab on our front page to review.

You MAY change course, at any time, while out on the ride. The turn off for the 37 mile course is at the first aid station, at the Church Creek Fire Department.

Century riders, if you follow the century course, you will get to the Church Creek Fire Dept at Mile 26. If it is just too much from there, if you take the PINK course arrows, you will wind up with about 50 miles. If you take the ORANGE course markers, you will wind up with 70 miles. If you continue on the Yellow course, you will wind up with 100 miles.

SAG number (443) 328-4323 (7am to 3pm)

There are pumps and some tubes at each aid station. Please keep in mind that cell reception is minimal for much of the course. We will have roving SAG to help alleviate this.

RIDE DATE - SATURDAY, MAY 1, 2021!!

Check out the ATHLETE GUIDE, and the EMAILS tab for the most up to date information.

Suggested start times are:

Century (100 Mile) - 7am

56 Mile (Eagleman course) - 8am

37 Mile - 9am

We would like all riders to leave by 9am. There is an 8 hr cutoff, based on the 7am start time, for the course. All support will discontinue at 3pm

Please join us for our 13th annual Six Pillars Century Blackwater Tour fundraiser.

As you may have seen, the Character Counts MidShore organization took a very hard hit with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. As many of the services provided are directly done so through the school, and with most of the school year virtual, Character Counts had no choice but to close up their doors in December of 2020. The generous donations throughout the year, and those who allowed for their entry to be a donation towards the organization's operating expenses, were the reason the organization was able to last as long as it did.

Fortunately, their mission will be continued with a new partnership with the For All Seasons organization. Lauren Weber will be joining For All Seasons as the Director or Programs and Curriculum Development, and will continue to develop in-school programming that will build wellness and resilience in the community.

What does that mean for the Six Pillars Century? Local producer TCR Event Management has taken over the event and will produce the cycling event as a fundraiser for this new program in For All Seasons. 100% of the donations, and a large percentage of all of the profits from the event will go directly to help grow these programs, directly affecting the youth in our schools. Various other community organizations will also be receiving funding through the program, as we hope to continue the philantrophic work that this event has cultivated over the years.

Cycle the Scenic back roads of picturesque Blackwater Wildlife Refuge in Dorchester County, MD. Choice of three FLAT routes: 37 miles, the famous 56 – mile Ironman Eagleman course, or our beautiful 100 – mile century course that takes you through quaint townships along the Chesapeake Bay and back through serene woodlands. Begin your day at Great Marsh Park for a complementary al fresco breakfast on the shores of the scenic Choptank River.
