Scranton Half Marathon 2024

Short review

 

The 8th edition of the Scranton Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 7, 2021, beginning and ending in PenFed Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium. The goal of the race is to provide a superior event highlighting the local area and in doing so, bring increased exposure and revenue for local businesses.

Virtual Half Marathon Run and Virtual Half Marathon Walk

Run or walk the half marathon distance wherever you'd like between November 1 - 7, 2021Submit your time to scrantonhalfresults@gmail.com to be included in the virtual resultsCost is $55 and includes bib, finisher shirt, medal, and blanketPickup your virtual race swag during expo hours on Friday, November 5 from 5 to 8 PM or Saturday, November 6 from 11 AM to 5 PMIf you live outside of the NEPA area, your race swag will be mailed to you during the week of November 8 , 2021.Virtual race participants are not eligible for any age group awards or cash prizesPlease note that if you register for the virtual run or walk, you are unable to transfer your registration to the in-person event

Half Marathon Walk! 

Here's the details:

Begins at 7:45am.Fully chip timed.Finishers receive Half Marathon Medal and Finisher's Gift.Awards to the Overall Male and Overall Female finishers.Aid stations for the walk begin with the mile 7.5 station.  This is a walk only, and participants are not permitted to engage in running during the event if registered for the walk.***Walkers must stay on the sidewalks until the lead police vehicle comes by at which point the course will be fully secure***Please note that due to course safety restrictions, the Doherty Double is not walk friendly.

 

Race Dates: Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7, 2021.

Times:  1/4 Mile Kid's Run: 2:30 PM (Saturday, November 6)

              5K: 3:00 PM (Saturday, November 6)

              Half Marathon Walk: 7:45 AM (Sunday, November 7)

              Half Marathon: 9:00 AM (Sunday, November 7)

              1/2 Mile Kid's Run: 9:30 AM (Sunday, November 7)

*The Doherty Double consists of both the 5K run only on Saturday, November 6, and the Half Marathon run only on Sunday, November 7, walkers are not permitted to signup for the Doherty Double.*

Charitable Giving: The Scranton Half Marathon has given over $450,000 in it's first seven years to the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority for the beautification and safety of the city of Scranton.
