Join us for a 5K at Victor Ashe Park! All proceeds go to the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers Knoxville Chapter and KnoxProCorps.
The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers works to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education in Knox and surrounding counties. For several years they have sponsored STEM education events in Knox County. They also annually award over $10,000 in grants to STEM education in area high schools and college scholarships to engineering students.
Knox ProCorps seeks to provide Knoxville professionals a means to improve the health and welfare of impoverished communities in the U.S. and abroad by utilizing their talents and professional training. They have taken numerous trips to Central America and rural Appalachia.
Awards as follows: Top 3 M & F, Top Master 40+ M & F; Top Grandmaster 50+ M & F; Age Groups in 10 year increments; Top Athena & Clydesdale
DUE TO COVID-19 GUIDELINES WE WILL BE MAKING THE FOLLOWING CHANGES:
There will be a maximum of 250 participants with waves no greater than 50 people. Waves will begin every 15 minutes.
Masks must be worn to packet pickup. Please keep adequate distance from others while waiting.
The course has been revised to not have an out and back, this will eliminate runners passing each other coming back in.
We are requesting participants to wear their mask to the start line and wear it until the race starts.
To minimize volunteer contact, no aid station will be provided. Water will be available at the start line if you would like to carry a bottle with you. A "to go" refreshment pack will be provided at the finish.
The course will be marked with signs and arrows on the ground. In order to reduce contact no corner marshals will be on course.
There will be no official awards ceremony, awards will be available for pickup 45 minutes after the last wave. No gathering for the awards, if you were in a wave prior to the last wave please pick up your award from the drive through we will have set up.
Directions from downtown Knoxville: Take Western Avenue headed west; after approximately four miles, turn right onto Pleasant Ridge Road; go approximately three miles (before Northwest Middle School) and turn left onto Bradshaw Road; park is on immediate right.
Directions from I-40: From I-40, take the I-640 exit #385; take the Western Ave. West; head west on Western Ave; turn right onto Ballcamp Pk. at the Wendy's; turn right onto Bradshaw Rd; park will be on the left.
Directions from I-75: From I-75, take the Merchant Drive exit #108; head west on Merchant Dr; go to Merchant Dr. end; turn left onto Pleasant Ridge Rd; turn right onto Bradshaw Rd; park will be on the immediate right.
