In an effort to continue supporting and fulfilling the mission to raise funds toward advancing cancer research, Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC will be launching a health and wellness challenge celebrating Global Wellness Day. Global Wellness Day promotes good physical and mental health through complimentary, educational, and experiential wellness activities around the world.

On June 13, 2020 Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC will begin celebrating the 40th anniversary of Race to Beat Cancer, with a week-long preview challenge in collaboration with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Global Wellness Day to benefit MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Washington Cancer Institute.  A core part of Four Seasons history is the inspiring story of Terry Fox and his legacy to continue raising critical funds for cancer research worldwide. This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the race in DC and the 20th year partnership with MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Washington Cancer Institute. The 40th Anniversary Race to Beat Cancer will be a virtual race this year running from September 26 - October 2, 2020 this year (more details forthcoming). 

This week-long preview challenge, in conjunction with Global Wellness Day, will run from June 13th through June 20. This virtual challenge will allow participants to form teams, track their progress and make commitments to both physical and mental health as outlined by Global Wellness Day; all while raising money for Cancer. The challenge focuses on simple changes to help improve and maintain a healthier lifestyle each and every day through the 7 Step Global Wellness Day Manifest:

Walk 30 minutes a dayDrink more waterDon’t use plastic bottles (replace with a recyclable container)Eat Healthy FoodDo a good deedHave a family dinner with loved onesGet 8 hours of sleep a night

Registration for the preview challenge is $10, with the funds going directly towards Medstar Washington Hospital Center. For those who wish to participate but are unable to spare $10, use the code GWD2020, no questions asked. All proceeds (and any additional donations) will support MedStar Washington Hospital Center's Washington Cancer Institute. Now more than ever, physical and mental health is of the utmost importance. Just think, while you are taking care of yourself and improving a healthy lifestyle, you'll also be supporting the clinical trials and cancer research at Washington Cancer Institute.
