Short review
The 12th Annual OrthoCarolina 10K Classic presented by Hanger Clinic- Food Truck and Beer Fest, a running event held in Charlotte, NC on September 18, 2021 is the areas premier 10K running event. The OrthoCarolina Classic will also feature a challenging 5K run/walk and a kid’s dash. Come out and enjoy one of the best courses in Charlotte and of course enjoy the expo where you can sample beer from local breweries and local food trucks will have food for sale. This is an event experience you will not want to miss. The race will cap at 2,000 runners!
What do I get for participating?
1. High Quality shirt. We will have mens and women’s cut shirts so please size yourself with that in mind. You must register before September 1st to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
2. Finisher Medals for 10K and 5K participants.
3. Great giveaways from our sponsors
4. EXPO: Sample beer from local breweries (Runners Only) and local Food Trucks selling awesome food. Runners will have 1 drink ticket attached to their bibs

Every participant will receive a t-shirt that signed up before September 1st. Shirts are ordered based on the sizes indicated during online registration. NO SWITCHING SIZES – NO EXCEPTIONS!
Kid’s Dash
This is our favorite event! The kid’s dash is very informal so they do not need to register but it gives the kiddos an opportunity to run through the finish line like Mom and Dad. We will have some mascots out there to run and create some excitement as well. Depending on the numbers, we may have to break it down in to age groups for safety reasons.

Timing
We have partnered with Event Marketing Services to time this years event using Chronotrack Timing Systems. All 5K and 10K participants will be timed and will receive their disposable timing tag during packet pick up.
Divisions
Overall, Masters, 12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
Awards
Top 3 Males and Females in all divisions will receive awards. Awards gift certificates courtesy of Run For Your Life - Midtown
Claiming Awards
As results become available, runners will be able to claim their awards at the awards ceremony prior to the last participant finishing. We do NOT ship unclaimed awards.
NOTE: Sisu Events reserves the right to add/delete categories and awards prior to race based on participation.
Refunds and Transfers
Registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years.
Time Limit
Walkers are welcome in the 5K only. The time limit for the 10K is 1:45. In order to comply with the agreement with the City of Charlotte, streets comprising the route must be reopened to vehicular traffic on a set schedule.
Medic/First Aid
There will be a medical tent located at the finish line in case of emergency or any medical needs. Announcements can always be made at the DJ booth as well.
Weather Policy
Races are held, rain or shine, unless Sisu Events determines that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day by Sisu Events and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather, there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Sisu Events reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.
Parking
PLEASE arrive in time to park. Parking will NOT be available in the parking ramp at OrthoCarolina. Additional parking will be available in the CMC Mercy parking deck located off of North Chase St.
Misc: Carpool if possible. There is a bus stop across from the park entrance (Bus Routes)
Expo
The OrthoCarolina 10K Classic Expo, has consistently been one of the best post race expos in Charlotte. You will find exhibitors, great giveaways from our sponsors, kids activities and best of all FOOD TRUCKS AND BEER! Local Food Trucks will have food for sale. Local breweries will have beer to sample…must be 21 years of age. Duh! The Expo starts at 7:30 and ends around 10 am. You will have a drink ticket on your race bib. The race is NOT responsible for the amount of beer brought to the event by the vendors. They are kind enough to donate it so we can not guarantee beer for everyone. We have left that up to their discretion but they’ve all been informed of the amount of runners registered. Food and Beverage not covered under USATF Sanction.
Entertainment
We are so excited to have AAA Entertainment at the Start and Finish line to energize the runners and maintain the fun!
