Oh the Places You'll Run! 2019

Short review

Come help us celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday with a 5k!  The great thing about this race...you can run wherever you are! Oh the places you'll run!  Join students enrolled in the fully online Library and Information Science program through the University of Southern Mississippi as we run together all over the country.  Simply download the free running app Strava, map your race, then send us a selfie and your finished race route and we will post it on our race site to see where all we have people running!  We will all be running together, just in our own corners of the country!  No specific start time, just run whenever it works for you on Saturday March, 2nd!

A traditional race will be held in Hattiesburg, MS at Chain Park at Twin Forks in conjunction with the Read Across America Day Event sponsored by the USM Council on Literacy and Reading.  Bring the kids, come run, and then stick around for the fun event!  There will be free literacy based activities for kids and the best part, every kid who attends will go home with a bag of books free of charge for reading on their own!  There is a 1 mile fun run for the kids who choose to participate, but even if kids are not running, they are still welcome to come and join the activities and take home their free books.

You will be doing your part too to promote literacy and reading.  Your race entry fee will support the USM Library and Information Science Student Association as well as provide 5 books for a child in the Hattiesburg area and support more great events just like this one!  The USM Council on Literacy and Reading gifts thousands of books to children in the Hattiesburg area ever single year.
