Short review

Miss racing at Sunken Meadow? Us too.  Join your pals from Sayville Running Company and Sawyer Adventure club and sign up for this no frills cross country shootout and race the traditional 5k course.

And what is cross country without team scoring?  We're throwing some bragging rights (and cash prizes) up for grabs, and using our state of the art supercomputer, top secret theorem, and patented algorithm to assign the teams.  An emphasis will be placed on reuniting local high school alumni teams, but other factors such as current hometown, favorite color, running club, and overall fairness will also be factored into the classified formula that calculates the teams. The top 3 runners from each team will automatically score, with one more runner displacing in the team scoring.  There are no limits on the number of runners that can participate from a given team.

Worried that this all might be way too complicated or competitive for you?  Don't sweat it!  The supercomputer does all the work, you just have to run!  And while we completely suggest you give the race your best effort (Cardiac demands it), nobody expects you to be as speedy as you were senior year.  All times and abilities welcome if you're willing to toe the line and do your best.  The best XC races aren't run for time, they're run on blood and guts!

No age groups awards will be given, but Sawyer is involved so there will certainly be some super comfy, soft t-shirts to anyone who signs up.  Winning team will be awarded a cash prize proportional to the amount of participants in the race.  Race will be scored by a top of the line, fully automated popsicle stick system.
