Short review
The Mission 100K is a perfect trail race for ultra runners and relay teams. We offer a 100K Open Race for individuals, 100K Relay (10K per leg), and a 10K Open for Individuals. The Mission 100K will take runner's through the scenic hardwood forest in Brown's Creek Nature Park in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. The event also includes the opportunity for camping and exploring the adjacent winery/distillery.
The Brown name isn't just on the park and the adjacent airport, it's also painted on a massive mural in downtown Elizabethtown, paying homage to Bladen County's living legend, NASA Astronaut Curtis Brown Jr. '"Curt" was born March 11, 1956. A decorated United States Air Force colonel, Brown spent 57 days in space on six successful space shuttle missions which he piloted or commanded. We pay homage to this living legend, and his pursuit to press the boundaries of the universe, by encouraging you to push your boundaries in a setting that's out of this world.
A five minute walk from the camp and starting line athletes will have access to the Cape Fear Vineyard and Distillery. Samples and specials await our participants in addition to cottages for those who don't want to camp. Here we will kick off the race and hold the award ceremony. Athletes and spectators will be able to eat lunch or dinner, and enjoy the amenities of the Cape Fear Vineyard and Distillery.
The race is produced in partnership with Go Time Events and Without Limits. The same duo that brings you our region's most popular trail running events like the Carolina Beach Trail Half Marathon, Southern Tour Ultra, Shakori 40 and the Copperhead Beer Relay
