Short review
The Lions Lunchables “Pace the Park” for hunger 5K and Fun Walk is sponsored by
the Delmont, New Alexandria, and Slickville Lions Clubs. The backpack supplied
provides breakfast, lunch, and healthy snacks for the weekend to students that
attend the James H. Metzgar Elementary school in New Alexandria, PA. During the
school year, a significant portion of students benefit from the breakfast and lunch
programs, however, the same students are left without similar support during the
weekends. By meeting the basic needs of the students, the clubs hope that each
child will be better able to focus on learning.
No child should go hungry. In honor of September being Hunger Awareness
Month, come out and join us in taking the “steps”, at your own pace, to help
make a difference.
We're inviting you to join us on our first Virtual race - this year participants will have one week to complete this challenge at Keystone State Park and submit their time online to us.
We encourage runners and walkers to go to Keystone State Park on their time to help raise awareness for hunger. You can enjoy the day with your family, friends and teammates while continuing social distancing.
If you are unable to go to Keystone State Park to run or walk, we encourage runners/walkers to use their local neighborhood, parks or wherever you enjoy to run/walk - you can still submit your time online and can also let us know where you ran.
