JRWS Winter Trail Series: Sheltowee Trace (Northern Morehead) 2019

Short review

This is a new spot for the John's Trail Series but should look familiar if you've done Next Opportunity Events' Big Turtle Races. It starts out nice and easy on forestry road before descending into the valley where you follow a beautiful trail along the creek. This is a great opportunity to check out some of the middle miles before Big Turtle this year or just enjoy another section of the Sheltowee. This event is free, open to the public, and accommodating to all paces, including hikers. You can either meet at John's Run/Walk Shop to carpool or at the trailhead

Note: This one is a bit trickier to get to. If you're coming from Lexington, the pin that's showing up on the above link is a little too far down Big Perry rd. The trail head is about a tenth of a mile earlier on the left side of the road across from someones driveway. There is limited parking at the trailhead, but there is plenty of space across 64 on Forestry Ridge Rd. Check out this map for exact locations.
