Short review

Join us for the 2019 I Run KC Challenge!  The Challenge has three options for you to choose from and you can select any individual challenge for just $20, or you can add additional challenges for just an additional $10 each.  The I Run KC Challenges include:

The 50K Challenge - ten 5K races, one each from ten different area cities, from a participating list of events between January 1 and December 31, 2019.  Once you sign up for the 50K Challenge, you can then go directly to the participating race registration site and sign up for that race directly.  You will be able to pick up your I Run KC Challenge jacket after you register for the Challenge (jackets to be ready for you to pick up beginning February 15, 2019) and you will be able to pick up your 50K Challenge medal once you have completed your tenth race.  Remember, only one participating race from each area city will count towards your goal.

The 100K Challenge - ten 10K races from the list of participating races.  Like the 50K Challenge, once you sign up for the 100K Challenge, you can then go directly to the participating race registration sites and sign up for those races directly.  You will be able to pick up your I Run KC Challenge jacket after you register for the Challenge (jackets to be ready for you to pick up beginning February 15, 2019) and you will be able to pick up your 100K Challenge medal once you have completed your tenth race. You do not have to run each race in a different city for this challenge, just ten different 10K races from the list of participating events.

The 200K Challenge is the largest and most flexible of the Challenges, as you can reach your 200K goal by doing any combination of the participating races in the 50K Challenge, the 100K Challenge, and the half marathons on the list of participating races.  Like the other two Challenges, once you sign up for the 200K Challenge, you can then go directly to the participating race registration sites and sign up for those races directly.  You will be able to pick up your I Run KC Challenge jacket after you register for the Challenge (jackets to be ready for you to pick up beginning February 15, 2019) and you will be able to pick up your 200K Challenge medal once you have completed your tenth race. If you decide to take on more than one of the Challenges, you can also count races that you have done towards the 50K Challenge and/or the 100K Challenge towards your 200K Challenge goal.

The I Run KC Challenge medal and the individual Challenge medals will be really cool interconnecting medals that you can add to one another as you add more Challenges.  We will have illustrations of them available for you to view soon!  The I Run KC Challenge jackets are available for you to try on at our KC Running Company store in Leawood at 4760 West 135th Street during normal business hours.  We want you to be able to order the size that fits you best, and if you need to change the size you ordered after you have had a chance to try them on, you can go back into your registration and make that change.

The list of participating races in each of the Challenges will be updated from time to time as participating races firm up their plans for 2019.  Several new races will also be joining the Challenges for 2019!  You must actually complete the races that you want to count toward your Challenge goal, as races that you register to participate in virtually won't be counted. We are excited about the different options that are available to you and look forward to seeing you at the races!
