Hedgehog Hustle 2024

Short review

So many events are cancelled (heck, we cancelled the Greater Hartford Quarter Marathon, Retro Run 5K and Hogsback Half Marathon) and so many of us are reeling from the loss of community these races provide, we wanted to do something to help build back the community we're missing. 

What's our solution?  It's a virtual race, but with a bit of twist -- the choice of a progressive half marathon, marathon or 50 miler over the months of October and November (or in hedgehog parlance an array of options).  You can learn more about exactly was a progressive race is here.  

The Hoglet (Progressive Half Marathon)

The Boss Hogg (Progressive 50 Miler)

How does it work? 
For each approximately week long period you run the specified distance at a time and place of your choosing.  You then upload both the time AND a supporting file to RunSignUp.  Using those times and files, we'll compile results for each individual segment and for the overall challenge.  All runners who complete their chosen challenge will be mailed a Hedgehog Hustle medal.  The top three overall men and women in open and masters categories for each challenge will also receive awards.  

What does it cost? 
The price to enter is $20.   

What else do I get?
Community is really, really important to us.  In addition to race results, medals and awards, you'll be given access to free training plans through TrainingPeaks to help you step up in distance or, if you're a veteran, get faster; you will be invited to a Hedgehog Hustle Facebook group to share your training and racing and be able to have questions answered by Sonic Endurance coaches and you'll be able to participate in fun games and challenges throughout the months of December and January.
