Short review
Join us October 23rd for a virtual 5K!
Faith over Fear 5K is all about reuniting our communities.
We find that the best way to bring people together is through a common goal.
For this event we have created two goals:
1. Improving ourselves and each other (the race)
2. Giving hope and comfort to the homeless (Snuggle Sacks Fundraiser).

We have been moved to create this event because of the divide we have seen in our country over the last 2 years that has also snuck its way into the church. There is a lot of fear, anger, sadness and confusion. The overwhelming emotions have been able to sneak into our hearts and immobilized members of the church. These worldly problems have even found a way to turn the most faithful and loving members, friends, brothers and sisters - against one another. The heartache (on both sides of this divide) has become almost unbearable.
We are human. We are going to disagree with our brothers and sisters on the solution to worldly problems, but we are always called to follow the gospel. If we fail to be stewards of peace during disagreements, has Satan won?
Our human beliefs have gotten so strong, that they are interfering with our spiritual responsibilities. So we are using this race as a way to bring unity and peace with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Let us take this time to agree to disagree on the solution - to accept that not everyone is going to handle worldly situations the same, to once again cheer and uplift one another in whatever way each individual is most comfortable with. Overall let us let go of any fear that is keeping our hearts from following what has been commanded of us. Let us have faith that God will provide a solution in this life or in our eternal life with Him - and let us do something positive for our bodies while we are at it - because at the end of the day the best way to fight any new illness (history tells us new illnesses will continue to happen) is to be prepared for it before it hits with a strong mind, body, and spirit to the best of our ability.
Our bodies were made to work and move - not to sit at a desk. America had an epidemic on their hands way before the pandemic hit, and it only added fuel to the fire. 1 in 3 Americans has either pre-diabetes or diabetes. 42% of the United States adult population is obese. Both of these diseases increase our risks for other diseases and adverse effects to bacteria and virus. In addition, mental health disorders are skyrocketing at an unbearable pace.
Our goal is to help each person get just a little further forward in their journey of holistic health by combining physical movement, nutritional changes, mindset, and spiritual work. Throughout the 8 weeks leading up to the race we are going to do our best to help each and every one of our registrants. Our facebook group is going to provide mindset, nutritional, and spiritual activities to help you along your journey. It will also keep everyone updated on our fundraising events to help the homeless in Michigan by providing funds to Snuggle Sacks.
