Short review

Run or Walk for the Rescues of Happy Tails Humane Society! Race will begin at 8 AM and starts and ends at Happy Tails Humane Society!

Race Day Registration will be offered from 7-7:45 AM . Cash or Checks accepted.

Parking: Please park on either side of McNeil Rd.  Parking will not be available on Happy Tails Property on Race Day. 

T-Shirt: All participants will receive a T-shirt in their swag bag if registered by July 22, 2021.  Anyone who registers after July 22nd will still receive a T-shirt, but will need to pick it up at JJM Printing Inc. in Sterling, IL. T-Shirt pick-up timeline will be announced when determined.

Raffle: Don't forget to bring cash if you would like to participate in the raffle for your chance to win donated items. (T-shirts, dog toys, Pet Smart grooming gift card, UOI gift basket, hand made items, and much more!) Each participant will receive two free tickets in their swag bag!

Food: Hazelsonthego and Big Miniature Farms will be serving delicious treats and drinks for purchase!

Packet Pick-Up: Will be offered the night before the race on August 6th at Happy Tails Humane Society from 5:30PM-6:30PM. The morning of the race participants may pick up their packets from 7AM-7:45AM at Happy Tails Humane Society. 

Course Details: Start on McNeil Rd. Turn right to bike path (Mixture of pavement and packed gravel/grass). Turn left on Avenue D. Turn right onto E Tenth St. Turn left on Avenue C. Turn left on E 11th St. Enter Centennial Park. Turn left into first parking lot, by red school. Follow the sidewalk to the bridge canal entrance. Turn left onto canal. Exit canal left before second overpass. Turn right to get back on bike path (Mixture of pavement and packed gravel/grass). Exit bike path left on grass to run Happy Tails property to the start/finish line.

Awards: Will be given to the top three male and female participants in each age division (14 and Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over.) The overall top female and male participant will receive $100 cash!!!

Strollers: Strollers are allowed, but at your own discretion.  The path contains packed gravel, grass, and a small entry way on and off the canal.  I ran the path with my single jogging stroller and it was do-able, but I do not believe a double wide stroller will fit through the canal entrance and exit.

Dogs: Dogs are allowed, but please ensure your dog is comfortable with large crowds and other dogs. Also, please be cautious of the weather and your dogs ability to be in the heat. The race, myself, and Happy Tails are not liable for any accidents or dog related incidents or injuries.
