Daphne's Legacy Celebration Walk and 5K Virtual Run 2020

Short review

The 5th Annual Daphne's Legacy 5K Fun Run/Walk will look a little different this year.

Due to the COVID pandemic, we are splitting the event between an in-person celebration/memorial walk at Lakeview Park in Frankfort, KY on Friday, September 25 at 6:00 p.m. and a virtual 5K race for our avid runners.  In discussion with park personnel and state leaders it would be difficult to social distance our runners at the start and finish lines, thus the reason for making the race a virtual event for runners.  

For Runners:  You can complete your 5K from the time of registration through Sunday, September 27 at 5:00 p.m.  You simply take a picture of your time/distance, email it to us at daphneslegacy.com before the deadline and we will issue medals the week of September 28th.  Shirts can be picked up at the Hancock Pavilion at the park beginning at 12:00 pm. on September 25th. Feel free to do your race virtually and join us for the walk!  Online registration will remain open until Friday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m.  

For Walkers: You may still sign-up via this website (your registration will say virtual, even though you may plan to join us for the in-person walk).  The walk will begin at 6:00 p.m. on September 25th, but you may choose to pick up your shirt earlier, as we will be set-up at the Hancock Pavilion beginning at noon that day.  Same day registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25th at the Hancock Pavilion in Lakeview Park.  Online registration will remain open until Friday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m.  

For All:  We do ask that you wear a mask (if able) and social distance while on park grounds.  Community Que BBQ Truck is sponsoring the race and will donate a portion of their proceeds that weekend to Daphne's Legacy.  They will be set-up at various locations in Frankfort, please visit CommunityQue.com 

Early Registration is required by September 10th to ensure you get a t-shirt in the correct size!

This 5K is a family friendly event held in memory of Daphne Scruggs Fields. Proceeds from this event benefit Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) Research. 

$25 Adult Registration (Age 13 and above)

$10 Children 12 and under - WHEN REGISTERING A CHILD, PLEASE NOTE THE YOUTH SIZE T-SHIRT.   

The 5K is a Fun Run/Walk and will take place at Lakeview Park, RAIN or SHINE.
