Join us for our 17th Annual Loop the Lake Run! This year we are working together by running apart with a VIRTUAL RUN! Our goal is to run 2,021 miles as a community and raise $20,000 for Marathon Kids to welcome in 2021!  THE RUN:

Dallas Loop the Lake Foundation was founded by Don Hunter in 2004. It started with just a small group of running buddies gathering for a New Year's Eve run. Now, 17 years later the Loop the Lake Run brings the Dallas community together every New Year's Eve, and Loop the Lake Foundation has raised over $115,000 for Marathon Kids.

WHAT IS MARATHON KIDS?

Marathon Kids is a nonprofit on a mission to get kids moving. Marathon Kids believes that "through running, [they can] show kids they can achieve more than they ever thought possible and put them on the path to healthier lives." Their program empowers coaches, kids, parents, and the greater school community to work together in order to set and achieve health goals that last a lifetime. Marathon Kids' programming impacts kids in two major ways. First, by getting them outside and moving on a regular basis they are increasing their chances of committing to healthy lifestyles, teaching them the importance of staying active, increasing their serotonin, and decreasing their chances of obesity, diabetes, and other related diseases. Second, Marathon Kids is teaching kids how to set big goals and the incremental steps for achieving them. By starting the school year with a four marathon goal, their kids witness first hand how a big goal can be broken down and achieved. This helps to build their confidence inside the classroom and in the real world. It builds their empathy for teammates and classmates who might be struggling with their own goals and it sets them up for believing in their dreams and goals in the long run
