Short review
Somerset County's Corporal Eugene Cole was killed in the line of duty on April 25th, 2018. This 3rd annual race will honor Corporal Eugene Cole and his family. All profits will be given to the Maine Community Foundation towards a scholarship fund in Eugene Cole's name. Corporal Cole's badge number was 1312. Corporal Cole is remembered as a compassionate man, a musician, a husband, a dad, and so much more. He gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting our communities. Lace up your shoes and line the streets with blue to support the Corporal Cole Scholarship, the Cole Family, and all our Law Enforcement Officers.
*2021 Announcement - Corporal Cole Memorial Run WILL be a live event this year!! There will be a Virtual Run as well for those wishing to participate this way.
Due to state regulations and COVID-19 teams will be running in heats of 50 and leaving the starting line in 15 minute intervals. The mission of this race is to keep Corporal Coles memory alive and to continue to heal our community while providing scholarship opportunities through fundraising. There will again be a virtual Corporal Cole Memorial Run also from August 16th - August 30th anywhere, on any outdoor course, or inside on a treadmill! You can honor Corporal Cole by participating in this virtual race during these times. We believe in being flexible and kind, the strong attributes of Corporal Cole. Due to the lack of sponsorship this year we will not be able to give out the great prizes as we have in the past. There will be medals for 1st place in all categories.
100% of the proceeds of this event will benefit the Eugene Cole Memorial Scholarship fund. Aaron Gordon of Norridgewock Maine was the first recipient of this scholarship.
Please upload your pictures and share your stories on our Corporal Cole Memorial Run Facebook page throughout the week of August 16th - 30th. Corporal Cole Memorial Run Facebook page

We again encourage you to put one foot in front of the other during these uncertain times. Proceed with kindness and thoughtfulness towards others.
