Byron Rocks May Day 5k & 10k 2024

Short review

The Byron Chamber of Commerce and Power Combat Fitness of Byron are bringing back Byron Rocks 5k & 10k!  

Let's be healthy and support our community!  How?  Well, the Byron Chamber of Commerce exists to support Byron and its surrounding area.  Byron Rocks 5k and 10k is just that.  We need your help, as a fitness guru, leisure runner, beginner runner, or a good Samaritan wanting to support the community, to help us make May Day baskets for organizations in our community.  Participants and spectators may bring a donation item for one of the following organizations, People Helping People Food Pantry or The Barn on Baseline Pet Shelter, on run day in exchange for a beverage at the refreshment tent!  Please find a list of acceptable items below.

Put a team together of 4 to 10 people and receive a $5 off of registration!  All members of your team must be doing the same event.  5k is $30 per person.  10k is $40 per person.  Kids 12 & under are 1/2 price.  Spectating is free!

Byron Rocks 5k and 10k is intended for people of any fitness level.  Whether you are running your first 10k, striving for your personal best, or enjoy a little competition this event is for you.  This event will be chip timed.  As previously mentioned, this event is intended to support the Byron Chamber and Byron Community.  It is also intended to promote fitness and healthy lifestyles for everyone.  So please join the Byron Chamber of Commerce and Power Combat Fitness Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10 a.m. to be healthy, support our special community, and have some fun!

Awards will be as follows:  5k & 10 - Overall Male and Female winners.  1st, 2nd, & 3rd for male and female age categories:  15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & over.  The team with the best team theme, any theme, will be awarded a May Day basket.  The awards ceremony will be held at Weezy's Sports Bar & Grill, downtown Byron at 12 pm.  

Please contact the Byron Chamber of Commerce at office@byronchamber.com or (815) 234-5500 with any questions or comments.  The event will be held Saturday May 1, 2021.  Registration and check-in begin at 9:00 a.m. and run/walk start time is 10:00 a.m.  Registration, check-in, start, and finish will be located in the Byron City Hall Parking Lot, 232 W 2nd Street, Byron, IL 61010.  

*Must register by April 16 12:00 p.m. to be guaranteed a goodie bag and Byron Rocks t-shirt.

**Acceptable Donation Items for People Helping People Food Pantry are:  5 cans of fruit, 2 containers of jelly, 1 box of pasta with one jar of pasta sauce, 5 cans of tuna, or 2 boxes of brownie or cake mix.

**Acceptable Donation Items for The Barn on Baseline Pet Shelter are:  1 box of 33-gallon trash bags, 2 rolls of paper towels (packaged), 2 large bottles of dish soap, 2 bottles of rubbing alcohol, or 2 jugs of bleach.
