***BEFORE REGISTERING*** The deadline to receive a runner's shirt has PASSED! We cannot guarantee a 2020 shirt but DO have 2018 & 2019 shirts still available. Register ONLY if you are ok with this!!! While the COVID19 crisis may prevent us from gathering together for our 4th annual Fun Run... the need of the children we serve continues to grow as does the need for us to connect as a community. Considering the ever-evolving issues, we have decided to host our Fun Run as a VIRTUAL RUN!! A Virtual Fun Run is a “Run at your place, your time and at your pace” race! Runners from our community or across the nation can register online, then they decide where & when they want to run. They can also run our route at ACU on their own over the race weekend. We will provide a suggested race route that will feature the banners of our generous sponsors. Run any time between May 1st to 4th, take a pic of yourself during your run (in front of our sponsor banners if possible) and post on Social Media with our hashtag #SuperheroVirtualRun PLEASE be aware of all City & State restrictions on gathering sizes and run/walk in a safe appropriate location and take all necessary safety precautions to protect yourself and those around you from risk of exposure to CONVID19! Why Still Run?
The goal of our event is to increase awareness of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), to recruit more volunteer advocates for children and to raise funds to support our mission. All proceeds from our race will directly benefit Big Country CASA in our efforts to recruit and train CASA volunteers to give a “voice” to abused and neglected children in court and the Taylor County foster care system. And these at-risk children need us even more now than ever before.
