Packet and Number Pick Up:

Race packets and Race numbers [Updated May 19] Number pickup for the Derby will now take place in the Botanical Gardens, Jack King Building, on Wednesday,  May 26th from 4-7pm. Logistics are currently being worked out and more information will be available prior to that date.

Race Course

The race starts at the junction of Duke of York Street and Old Maid’s Lane, St. George. Runners may use the entire road from the start to the Town of St. George sign. From this point participants must run on the left side of the road including following the normal traffic flow at all roundabouts until Lane Hill in Hamilton. Proceed along Mullet Bay Road, Kindley Field Road, The Causeway, Blue Hole Hill, North Shore Road, Flatts Hill, and Middle Road. Turn left at Lane Hill. Proceed down Lane Hill to East Broadway, and Front Street to Queen Street. Proceed up Queen Street turning right onto Church Street to King Street. Turn left at King Street and proceed to Victoria Street. Turn left at Victoria Street and proceed to Cedar Avenue. Turn right at Cedar Avenue and proceed to Marsh Folly Road. Turn right at Marsh Folly Road and proceed to Dutton Avenue. Turn right at Dutton Avenue and follow the directions onto the field at Bernard’s Park to the Finish Line. (See course map below)

Refreshment / Water Stations

There are 10 official refreshment stations on the course. They will provide fresh water and a sports drink for all participants. Note: The use of unofficial water stations is at your own risk. There will be no energy gels on the course this year. Runners are encouraged to bring their own.

A refreshment bag will be provided at the finish line.

There will be no post-race gathering in Bernard’s Park. Runners are asked to exit the field once completing the race. 

Half Marathon - Participant Information and Instructions:

Limited to 450 Participants. The start will be done in waves.

Ferry to ‘Start Line’ leaves promptly at 6:45 a.m. from Albuoy’s Point to Penno’s Wharf. Tickets [Updated May 19] Now $6 can only be purchased online and are limited to 175 tickets (first come first serve). Government issued tickets or tokens will not be accepted to ride the Ferry for this event.The roundabout near Swizzle Inn and Bailey’s Ice Cream will close promptly at 7:45 a.m.  Vehicles will not be allowed in or out of St. George after this time.Medical details must be filled out on the back of the race number issued to you.Changing / Rest Rooms are available at Penno’s Wharf and the Town Square.This event will be chip timed.  Timing chips will be attached to the back of your race bib.Participants will be responsible for any cost incurred to replace lost bibs/chip.Depending on the situation with Covid19, certain requirements and cooperation from participants may be mandated, ie. Masks at the start. In addition, participants who wish to compete in the 2021 Bermuda Half Marathon Derby must not have travelled off island within 14 days prior to the event. Anyone wearing the government-issued yellow bracelet will not be eligible to participate in the event.Race starts at 8:30a.m. prompt. There will be a wave start. Runners must start in the wave they are assigned.Race Numbers must be worn on the FRONT of shirt / vest during the entire race.Truck carrying runners’ clothing will leave the Town Square at 8:15a.m. prompt.Runners must collect clothing at least 5 mins after crossing the Finish Line.Participants running the full half-marathon are not permitted to participate in the relay division of this event.No Strollers or pets are permitted on the race course **Commemorative medals will be awarded to 450 finishers. **   Relay - Participant Information and Instructions:

In addition, participants who wish to compete in the 2021 Bermuda Half Marathon Derby must not have travelled off island within 14 days prior to the event.  Anyone wearing the government-issued yellow bracelet will not be eligible to participate in the event.BATONS WILL BE HANDED OUT AT THE START LINE AFTER THE LAST WAVE OF THE HALF MARATHON HAS STARTED.Relay Race starts at 8:50a.m.Race Numbers must be worn on the FRONT of shirt / vest during the entire race.Bib labelled ‘RELAY’ must be worn on the BACK of shirt / vest during the entire race.Truck carrying runners’ clothing will leave the Town Square at 8:15a.m. prompt.Runners must collect clothing at least 15 mins after crossing the Finish Line.Each relay team will include 4 participants. The minimum age is 12years. There will be a Derby Relay sign at the start of each leg. 

Relay - Parking at Changeover Points:

Please do not park on private property or block private driveways!

Do not park on roadways with a yellow line, your vehicle may be ticketed by the Police.
