Atlanta Growing Leadership Of Women (GLOW) invites you, family, and friends to register for the EmpowerHer Virtual 5K Walk/Run! Our race will take place from August 1st through September 30th at any location of your choosing. This is a family-friendly event suitable for walkers and runners of all levels, so lace up your sneakers and prepare to rule the road, sidewalk or treadmill. Registration is available for just $25 for adults and $10 for youth.

Why are we running, you ask? We at Atlanta GLOW envision a world in which all women and girls are fully empowered to pursue their dreams unobstructed by structural and oppressive barriers such as racism, sexism, and age-based discrimination. Further, we recognize that young women and girls of color experience increased vulnerabilities because of their intersecting identities, and yet they also hold immense power to drive community transformation. To that end, we are running to raise the funds and awareness to continue furthering our mission of empowering young women and girls of color towards greatness.

As a runner, your entry fee and any additional event-based fundraising efforts are extremely valued and important. Your contributions will help us strengthen the capacity of services we are able to offer to economically and systematically vulnerable young women and girls in the metro Atlanta community such as mentoring, leadership development, and skills training to help move them towards self empowerment, self-sufficiency, leadership equity and advancement, and giving them a foundation to help lead others the same.

Race Medals and Prizes

All pre-registered race participants will be eligible to receive a commemorative race medal. Additional competitive race awards can be earned as follows:

Fastest 5K Run - Atlanta GLOW will award the individual with the fastest time for a 5K run with a $100 Happy Her Gift Card and an Atlanta GLOW Swag Bag! The Happy Her gift card may be used at any Cheesecake Factory, Macy’s, Panera Bread, Ulta Beauty, Bed Bath & Beyond, Sephora, Spafinder, Under Armour, EXPRESS or Peet’s Coffee location in the US. *Participants will be required to provide time and distance via the RunSignUp platform to qualify.Most Creative Finish Line - Chalk it, toilet paper it, whatever creative means you need for a fantastic finish line. Atlanta GLOW will award the individual with the most creative DIY finish line with a $25 Amazon gift card and an Atlanta GLOW Swag Bag. *Post your finish line to Instagram between August 1st-September 30th with the hashtag #EmpowerHer5K, and tag @atlantaglow for a chance to win!Sweatiest Selfie - Embrace the heat! Atlanta GLOW will award the individual with the sweatiest selfie with a $25 Target gift card and an Atlanta GLOW Swag Bag. *Post your selfie to Instagram between August 1st-September 30th with the hashtag #EmpowerHer5K, and tag @atlantaglow for a chance to win! 

Prizes only applicable to those who register for Atlanta GLOW’s EmpowerHer Virtual 5K on RunSignUp.com and follow the guidelines to enter to win, as listed above. Race medals and awards will be mailed to registered race participants and the respective category winners within 30 days following the end of the race. Please note this event is open to residents of the U.S. only, and race medals and awards may only be shipped to addresses within these regions.
