9 1/2 Annual Fishcreek Raccoon Run 2024

Short review

Get excited- We are back and LIVE this year!!! So put away those snow boots and get out those running shoes! The 9 1/2 Annual Fishcreek Raccoon Run will be held on Sunday, April 25th, 2021 and will consist of a 5K and 1-mile Fun Run centered through the neighborhoods of Fishcreek Elementary School. There will also be a virtual option for those who prefer to run virtually, or those who can not join us on the 25th- near and far!!

The Raccoon Run promotes the health and wellness of the district’s students and the community as a whole, while supporting the students of Fishcreek Elementary. While there may be changes to the event everyone knows and loves, the important piece it is LIVE, for the kids, and getting us all back to some normalcy while getting out and exercising! 

While this will be the 10th year the Fishcreek Raccoon Run will be held- we wanted to make sure the official 10th Annual is bigger than ever- so stayed tuned for 2022 on those events!

Important Factors to keep in mind: This will consist of just the race- no events will take place before or after the race as in previous years. The good news is though you can still run/walk and earn yourself a medal (for 5K finishers) and a tshirt! 

Also, the race spots are limited and each person will be assigned a start time and corral upon registering to keep everyone spaced out, so sign up early!

Packets, t-shirts, 5K finisher medals are still a go for this year!! Also, look for swag items in our store while registering and checking out! 

Strollers are welcomed! 

PACKET PICK UP:

Packet pick up (swag items and bib assignment) will be on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 from 5:00-8:00pm in the parking lot of the Heritage Barn. Race day packet pickup will be very limited - please do your best to pick up prior to race day.
Packet Pick Up is for ALL participants (5K and 1 Mile Fun Runners AND Virtual Participants)

If you need to make arrangements to pick up your packet on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the afternoon, please contact fishcreeraccoonrun@gmail.com to see if this can be arranged.

There will be additional Fishcreek Raccoon Run swag items for sale (stress balls, water bottles, chip clips, etc.) outside during packet pick up!

In order to guarantee yourself a t-shirt, your registration must be received no later than April 16, 2021. Because this is a fundraiser for Fishcreek Elementary, no refunds will be issued for registration cancellations. Registrations received without payment are not valid.

RACE DAY DETAILS
The start line of the race is located at 5238 Young Road, Stow, Ohio 44224 (Heritage Barn). 

Parking will be available off the STOW ROAD ENTRANCE ONLY! Take the road past Bow Wow Beach and SOAR Playground and keep going around past the baseball fields to the parking lot. 
The Young Road entrance will be closed to all traffic. 

**Do not arrive at Fishcreek Elementary on Race Day!**  

1 Mile Fun Run:
Please double check your corral time before the race per your registration. Racers will wait in the staging area until a volunteer calls your group to line up at the start line. Each participant will stand by a marker placed at the start line before their "GO".  

The first corral time for the 1 Mile Fun Run starts promptly at 8:00am. Corrals will be released every 3 minutes after that. Volunteers will let each group know when it is their time to start the race. 

5K:

The first corral time for the 5K starts promptly at 9:00am. Corrals will be released every 3 minutes after that. Volunteers will let each group know when it is their time to start the race. 

A water stop will be available at Fishcreek Elementary School between miles 1 and 2 for racers. Upon completing your race, finishers can pick up your 5K medal at the finish line!

There will not be an awards ceremony this year after the race. Top qualifiers will be notified of their placement for your prize. Reminder- winners will be determined after all runners have crossed the finished line and is based on each individual runners race time.

Strollers are permitted for both races. No bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc. for either race.
