10th Annual Bournelyf Hand-to-Hand VIRTUAL 5K Run/2 Mile Walk 2024

Date: July 2nd to July 6th, 2020

Location: A racecourse of your choosing

Cost: DONATIONS ONLY (Suggested Donation is $15 per Runner/Walker) - For a donation of $15 or more, you will be sent a race t-shirt

Bournelyf Special Camp is a local non-profit organization, founded in 1980, that is committed to creating physically challenging and empowering opportunities for youth with disabilities.  The goal of the race is to raise money to be able to offer families tuition that is significantly lower than the actual cost.  With the current COVID situation, we have decided to hold this year's race as a Virtual Race and Kick off to Summer Camp. We look forward to the day when we can gather again for races, walks and other events in person, but until then, the virtual Run/Walk is a great way to kick off the summer, celebrate the 4th of July and support Bournelyf Special Camp!

How does the Virtual Race Work?

The Virtual Race will take place from July 2nd until July 6th.  At some point during that time, simply go out and complete your 5k (3.1 Mile) Run or 2 Mile walk on a course of your choosing.  You can do it with friends or by yourself.  When you are done, simply submit your time to the website (directions will follow once you register) OR just tell us that you completed your run/walk and we'll post you as a finisher on the results page.  

We also plan to mark a course in downtown West Chester and at East Goshen park if you want to complete your run/walk there, but really it's up to you! Many local parks and trails already have mileage markers that you can use.  Or you can go to a local track and complete your run/walk there!  A 5k run is 12.5 laps on the track and the 2 Mile walk is 8 laps.  The beauty of the virtual run is you can do it wherever you want.!

Prizes will still be awarded for the top male and female 5K runners.  Additionally, we'll give away prizes for the person who completes their run/walk at the furthest location from West Chester, PA along with a few other prizes.  

Fundraising Challenge: Once again, we will be having our fundraising challenge!  Start a fundraising page and the top fundraising camper will receive $200 off of their tuition for the summer of 2020 or for upcoming monthly events!
