VIRTUAL RACE: The 24th Annual Sprint for Life 5K and Sprint for Sprouts Kids' Run has been moved into a virtual event as part of MD Anderson’s proactive measures to prevent the introduction or spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Make a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer!

Founded in 1998, Sprint for Life has two missions:  to raise awareness and research funds for ovarian cancer. Hosted by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Sprint for Life has raised more than $5.6 million for the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program, one of the world's leading efforts dedicated to ovarian cancer research.  Funding has allowed researchers to develop new clinical trials, understand the biology of ovarian cancer and develop new therapies for the disease.

What’s a virtual 5K? ·      A virtual 5K takes place anywhere you like.  You can complete it on a treadmill, riding a bike, running track or wherever you like within the two week time frame        of May 1-15 allowed this event.         

 ·     You can still raise funds for ovarian cancer research and have your shirt and new for this year, custom race medal mailed to you.
To receive your shirt by "race day," May 1st, you MUST register by April 16th. Anyone that registers after April 16th will receive their shirt after May 1st. 

·       If you register early you can wear your shirt on Saturday, May 1st and join the virtual 5K by posting photos of yourselves wearing your Sprint for Life shirt to social media.  ·       Participants may use hashtag #endcancer in their posts or tag MD Anderson’s social media accounts.
