The 13th Annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk for Judi's Place for Kids has gone VIRTUAL!! Instead of just one day, you will have the opportunity to run or walk between July 19 and July 25, at a time and place that works best for you! You can participate from anywhere! Please be safe and follow official health guidelines for your community, but feel free to safely gather your superhero team to complete the event together and share your photos with us!
Prizes/ Opportunities:
Custom event medal and T-shirt included in registration fee!Grand prize: custom corn hole set, donated by Scott Blackburn, with graphics by Custom Signs and Awnings. One lucky winner will be drawn from registered participants who submit their completion through your Run Sign Up account during the event window.Most money raised (individual and team) - Set up your fundraising goal through runsignup.com, with options to promote through Facebook and other social media. Your fundraising helps make the world brighter for abused and neglected children. It's easy to ask your family and friends to help you meet your goal. Consider adding a donation of your own when you register.Costume contests: The Run with Courage is still superhero themed! This year's shirt and medal feature Leslee, the facility dog for Judi's Place for Kids. Floyd County student Maddy Wade added his superhero outfit. Everyone who helps a child is a superhero, and the children who are survivors of abuse are also heroes! Watch social media for details on how to submit your entries for individual, team, and pet categories.
Registration fee: $25, with additional $5 for shipping. Pickup option will be available in Pikeville or Prestonsburg, with details to follow.
Registration closes at midnight on July 17.
To celebrate children in our community and build commitment to the fight against child abuse, we encourage everyone to participate virtually and to wear super hero costumes to show our support for children facing abuse (send us pictures as you complete your race). All proceeds from the virtual race will benefit Judi’s Place for Kids to continue providing services which promote safety and justice, hope and healing for children with concerns of abuse. Judi's Place for Kids provides forensic interviews, victim advocacy, medical care, mental health therapy, public education, and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
