Short review
Hawk Walk: Celebration of Recovery is a self-timed 3K or 5K walk/run held at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis Indiana. The walk/run takes place on Harrison Trace Trail, an asphalt-surface trail for walkers, bicyclists and joggers that begins at the Delaware Lake picnic area and follows the rolling upland above Fall Creek. Expect some hills. Much of the trail is tree-covered, and wildflowers grow next to it during spring and summer.
Hawk Walk is the primary fundraiser for The 24 Group www.the24group.org, a nonprofit foundation that educates the public about the effects of substance abuse on families, and provides grants to local treatment and recovery programs to help adolescents and young adults in early recovery. The COVID-19 pandemic and need to limit social contacts created additional challenges for those impacted by substance use disorder, so your help is more important than ever! **COVID UPDATE** The 24 Group strongly recommends attendees who are eligible be vaccinated for the protection of everyone, but this is NOT required to attend the event; Masks will be required inside the Reddick Shelter and during the start of the walk/run due to limited ability for social distancing; Hand sanitizer and disposable surgical masks will be available onsite and 24 Group cloth masks will also be available for a minimum $10 donation (limited supplies)
You have the option to register as an individual or as a group/team with friends and family. Children 6 years and under do not have to register, and a $5 discount applies to ages 75+; a $5.00 per person discount applies when registering 5 participants or more.
Additional donations can be made by clicking on the Donate button. All donations go to The 24 Group to help support our mission You can also set up your own fundraiser to raise donations as an individual or through your team by clicking on the Fundraiser button under the Donate tab and following the instructions.
