Get ready to lace up your running shoes and hit the streets of Mullins for an exhilarating 5K race or a leisurely 1 mile stroll. After working up an appetite, indulge in our delicious barbecue and chicken bog feast featuring tender smoked meats and a tantalizing array of sides. WHAT MAKES RUNNING THE MULLINS BACKYARD 5K SPECIAL Run Historic Mullins - this inaugural event showcases the small town charm of Mullins - surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pee Dee Region and its friendly peopleTwo Races - choose between the 5 kilometer or the 1 mile run / walk - both distances offer its unique challenge, so get ready - we'll be rooting for ya :)Youth 18yr and Under - participate for only $20!Post Race Party - save some energy because we are planning an awesome post race party with a good ol' backyard barbeque and chicken bog competition. Plan and sticking around after the race to taste the smokin' good meats and savory chicken bog.Bling Bling - beautiful custom t-shirts, custom finisher medals for participants of all race distances, and other really cool swag.Fun - the Mullins Backyard 5K race organizers realize enjoyment is often on equal footing with performance, so expect to have a good time all around.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN
Safety for our participants, volunteers, and staff is our number one concern. Any decision we make regarding the production or cancellation of the event will be made with their interest first and foremost. If mother nature does not cooperate on race morning - we will delay the event until the conditions are safe - this delay will continue for a reasonable amount of time until we deem it necessary to cancel the event. If time permits and if the weather poses a threat that is certain to make us cancel the event in the hours prior the start, we will notify participants of the race cancellation via email as soon as that decision is made.
