World Water Day 5K 2020

Short review

***Due to the recent development in regards to the coronavirus, we will be moving our race to a fully virtual event!***

The World Water Day 5K is all about serving the thirsty. Of course, we would have loved to be together for this event, but the current situation requires us to make necessary adjustments and precautions.

Your race packet will be mailed to you next week and you will receive them in time to celebrate virtually on March 28 - from your home, local trails, or even a treadmill! We will leave virtual registration open through the weekend in case anyone else wants to join in.

Look out for more information soon about a video the morning of the run, a photo challenge, and more ways to connect without gathering together in person.

Sanitation and hygiene promotion is an important part of our work at Living Water International. This current crisis is a reminder of our efforts around the world to ensure safe water and sanitation services to communities in need. You can read more about Living Water's response to the coronavirus here.

On Saturday, March 28, we invite you to join us as we celebrate World Water Day 2020!

5K
The 5K Run/Walk will be a chip-timed race with awards for the top three participants in each age group (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over). The race starts at 8 a.m., and the course takes place on neighborhood roads and jogging trails in the City of Meadows Place in Southwest Houston.

There will be a water station at the halfway point. Baby strollers are allowed, but we ask runners with strollers to please start near the back of the group to avoid obstructing other runners. No pets are allowed on the race course. The race will be held rain or shine. However, it could be cancelled in the event of a dangerous weather advisory.
