Wixom Derby Day 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run 2021

And they’re off! The Wixom Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will host its annual Derby Day races on Saturday, May 1st at Sibley Square Park located in heart of downtown Wixom. The 2021 Derby Day races will utilize a new 5K route that takes participants along the Michigan Airline Trail, which is part of the Great Lake to Lake Trial. The 1 Mile Fun Run will lead participants through our beautiful downtown neighborhoods.

All participants will receive a complimentary Derby Day wristband, finishing medal, and t-shirts. One must register by April 12, 2021. Stay after the race and enjoy downtown Wixom. Show your wristband at participating businesses to take advantage of the Derby Day specials being offered.

Your participation will help support Camp Casey. $5.00 from each registration will help fund Horsey House Calls, Cowboy Campouts, and Outlaw Outings. For this event, we will be breaking athletes into different start waves/corrals to abide by the current state rules for safe gathering sizes.  Athletes within those waves will start together, and waves will be sent out every 2 minutes. All finish times will be based on chip time, so your time will not start until you personally cross the starting line. Wave sizes will be determined closer to race day in accordance with the most recent government regulation.  Athletes will have an opportunity in the week leading up to the race to pick which wave/corral that they would like to start in.

To limit face-to-face exposure, packet pick up will begin 45 minutes before each wave start time. All packets will be coordinated with and place within each wave/corral labeled with each participants name and wave/corral number.
