William H. Craig Race for Life 2023

Short review

Established to honor the legacy of Dr. Bill Craig and his many contributions to the community. Funds from this event will provide financial support for Girls on the Run, STRIDE, Victory Junction Gang Camp, the Bill Craig Memorial Scholarship and others.

 

The William H. Craig Race for Life 5K and 15K is the end of the season celebration 5k race for Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole, and STRIDE participants. Come join all the boys and girls, grades 3rd-8th, as they celebrate their accomplishments of the season! A fun and festive atmosphere, William H. Craig Race for Life 5K and 15K celebrates friends, family and wellness! Public runners are welcome as this race provides much needed scholarships for future Girls on the Run and STRIDE participants. Professional race production by the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina and timing by Setup Events ensures a fun, safe, and accurate 5k and 15K race experience!

This event is rain or shine! In the event of inclement weather, race directors will be in contact with race participants via email.

  PACKET PICKUP and RACE DAY REGISTRATION:  

Packet Pick up will be CURBSIDE on Friday, December 10th from 3:30pm-6pm at Nir Family YMCA located at 2710 Market St. Wilmington, NC 28403. 

There will be no packet pickup or race registrations on race morning.

 

RACE SHIRTS:

Race shirts are guaranteed to runners who register before November 28th. Past that date, as with any race, William H. Craig Race for Life will try to accommodate all runners with a shirt of their preferred size but can not guarantee.

 

MASK UP/TEMPERATURE CHECKS

All athletes will be required to wear a mask at ALL TIMES, with the exception of the race itself. Masks will be required.

You are to provide your own disposable mask in the morning when you arrive.  You will wear this mask to the start and then dispose of it before starting the race.  At the finish, you will be given a food bag and there will be a mask in it.  Please put the mask on IMMEDIATELY after you get some fluids.

System screenings will be conducted on all YMCA race staff, volunteers and participants to include symptom related questions and temperature taking on race morning.
