Short review
Set in Coupeville, WA, on beautiful Whidbey Island, this race will offer you amazing views and course like no other. This is the only place you will have the opportunity to run through a local, state and federal park in the same marathon, relay or half marathon. Runners will begin their adventure on the south side of the seaport community of Coupeville. You will have the unique opportunity to traverse both Ebey’s Prairie and Crockett Prairie within Ebey’s Landing National Historic Preserve offering spectacular, panoramic ocean and prairie farmland views. Across the pastoral landscape in the Reserve and vast waterways of Puget Sound, Admiralty Inlet and the Straits of Juan de Fuca, runners will be met with sweeping vistas that include Mount Baker, the North Cascades, the Olympic Mountains and Peninsula, Mount Rainier and the San Juan Islands. If you are lucky, you will catch a glimpse of the ferries running between Coupeville and Port Townsend as you skirt the shores of Admiralty Inlet. A combination of dramatic seaside bluffs, dense forest, dirt and paved trails and fertile prairies offers a unique location and opportunity for competitive running in the first (1978) of only three historical reserves in the country.
This event supports graduation week activities for the 2022 Seniors from Coupeville HS, and a portion of the proceeds will also go towards scholarships for those Seniors.
