Sri Chinmoy 5K, 10K & Kids Race in Alley Pond Park 2021

Join us on Sunday, September 26, 2021, for the Fifth Annual Sri Chinmoy 5K & 10K in Alley Pond Park, Queens, NY, featuring a scenic 5K loop course through the park. Simultaneous 10AM start for both 5K & 10K.  USATF certified course (NY17063JG).

Sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the New York City Dept. of Parks and Recreation.

 

AMENITIES:

Free parking, bag check, aid stations every mile, free race shirt, medals for all finishers.

 

THE COURSE:

A fun and scenic 5K loop that winds its way through Alley Pond Park, and also including a 1-Mile section on the Vanderbilt Parkway. 5K = 1 loop, 10K = 2 loops.  Course is 99% paved, with three short sections across dirt/gravel. Full disclosure:  This course does have a few rolling hills - please keep this in mind when choosing between the 5K and 10K!

RACE SHIRTS:

Free race shirts guaranteed for all participants registered by September 16.
For participants registered after September 16, remaining shirts will be available after the race on a first-come first-serve basis.
T-Shirt sizes are Unisex: X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2XL

 

KIDS RACE:

There will be a kids race for children under 13, at 9:45 a.m. Registration is $5 and is on race day only, starting at 9:00 a.m. Children must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.  Each child will be issued a race number, and receive a small prize.

 

TIME LIMITS:

Participants in either race have until 11:30 AM (1-1/2 hours) to finish.

 

AGE RESTRICTIONS:

5K: 13 years or older
10K: 15 years or older

Same entry fee for 5K and 10K

$30 through Sep. 16 (Race shirt guaranteed)
$35 Until online registration closes

No race-day entry.  Entries cannot be transferred to another person.

$5 Kids Race - race day registration only

RACE PACKETS:

Choose Packet Shipping when registering ($5.95), to avoid the lines on race day and have your shirt and bib delivered to your door before the race. Otherwise, packet pickup is available at the race site from 8:45 - 9:45AM before the race.

 

COVID-19

This event will follow all Covid precautions / restrictions imposed by the park at the time of the event (if there are any), which may include masks and / or physical distancing.  Further details will be emailed to registered runners prior to the race.
