Short review
In 2019 we had our biggest Turkey Trot in history! Turkey Trotters donated 800 pounds of food and $11,000 to the Food Bank of Alaska! We believe we can still set a new record by making this year about giving thanks and helping others. Event size, course costs, and venue restrictions make an in-person Turkey Trot difficult to properly mitigate under current COVID-19 restrictions.
Instead we are going VIRTUAL with 2 goals:
Goal 1: Raise Money! – The Food Bank of Alaska is experiencing a sharp increase in demand due to COVID-19. We are asking you to help us drive fundraising for this critical community organization. Create an individual or team fundraiser through our registration platform and help us set a record for Turkey Trot donations. We have some great gifts for reaching fund raising goals:
Goal 2: Get us all Moving! – Let’s keep Thanksgiving one of the biggest running and walking days of the year in Anchorage. With a goal of getting 2203 (same as 2019) people running on Thanksgiving day, you’ll have 1 day (Thanksgiving) to complete your run and post your result. We’ll have fun updates through the RaceJoy app and you can join the Skinny Raven crew on Facebook Live as we kick of our own Turkey Trot as a group.
Your event shirt is also being upgraded to a comfy 1/4 zip long sleeve!
