A Soles of the City Event

The Scholars Run will offer a virtual component in addition to the traditional event. Participants who select one of the virtual events will be able to complete their selected distance anywhere or anytime between July 9 and July 31. The virtual events will utilize the RaceJoy app to record the participant's distance and time when their selected distance is completed. Participants may also record their time manually on the event RunSignUp registration site if they prefer.

Virtual event participants may choose to have their shirt mailed to their postal address if they register before 11:59 pm on July 11, 2021 and select the postal shipping add on.

2nd Event of the 2021 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of Running  1st event Spring Sprint April 10th  3rd event Reindeer Run December 5  Those participating in ALL THREE events will be eligible for Triple Crown cash awards, door prizes and a special memento. If you are unable to participate in ALL THREE events, you still have a chance at winning the great Triple Crown door prizes worth a minimum of $50 each if you participate in the Reindeer Run and at least one of the other two Triple Crown events. You are eligible whether you participate in the 5K Run or the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.

The Scholars Run traditional race will be staged Saturday, July 31, 2021 - Cooper Athletic Center on the Maryville College Campus

CHECK-IN: 6:30-7:45 a.m. the day of race

THE COURSE: 5K Course includes area city streets.  The 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run is situated entirely on the Maryville College campus.

RACE TIME: 8:00 a.m. – 5K Run
8:45 a.m. 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

T-SHIRTS: All participants will receive an attractive, high-quality short sleeved unisex shirt! Shirt size guaranteed to those who register before July 14th. Anyone registering after July 14th will receive shirt while supplies last. 

AWARDS/PRIZES: WE WILL STAGE AN AWARDS CEREMONY ON SITE AFTER THE EVENT GIVEN THAT THE STATE OFFICIALS HAVE RELAXED THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. Any award not claimed will be available at the Parks and Rec Office located at 316 South Everett High Road Maryville, TN 37604 beginning on Tuesday August 3, 2021 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group and to the top male/female overall and Masters winners in the 5K. All Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a participation gift.  AGE DIVISIONS: Male and Female: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.  Male and Female Masters: Male and Female (40 and older)

GENERAL INFORMATION: No bicycles, roller blades or dogs are allowed on the course or to be used by any participant during the race. The use of headsets is not recommended due to traffic on race route.

Refreshments: post race refreshments will be available immediately following the race for all registered participants.
