Short review
**UPDATE**
After talking with the Volusia County Parks and Rec, the current COVID rates and our top priority is to everyone's health and safety, we have made the extremely difficult decision for this years Running with the Chromies 10K/5K to be a virtual race. Although we can't have the traditional start/finish line and the excitement of cheering everyone on as they cross that line, the beautiful trails are still open for you to come run your race at your leisure. With the race being virtual, each registration will still include a runner bag with a race shirt (if registered before August 1st), a finishers medal and a snack for after your run/walk. The difference is this won't be officially timed, so the additional awards for top finishers aren't possible this year.
This 10K/5K walk/run & 1 Mile Fun Walk is in honor World Down Syndrome Day, which is on March 21st each year. This date is significant as it represents the 3 copies of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. Plan to stay after the race for some family fun. There will be live music, vendors, food trucks games and more.
The Running with the Chromies 10K race course has been certified by the USA Track & Field, with the certification number of FL18003TY and the official race map can be found here
