Short review
October 12th, 2020 will commence Native American Health Center's first ever Virtual Running is My High event.
Traditionally, Running is My High is a large community event hosted by Native American Health Center that includes a 5k/10k run/walk around Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland and celebrates wellness, physical and mental health, nutrition, and social connection. If you are not a runner/walker, you are still welcomed to join us to enjoy traditional Native American drumming and dancing, outreach tables, and a children's activity area. Due to these unprecedented times Running is My High 2020 has decided to go Virtual. In an effort to continue to celebrate health and wellness we are encouraging everyone to participate in this years' virtual event. Participants will complete their distances by either running or walking and upload their finishing times through the runsignup.com website, Participants who finish with the best times will received a Medal/ Trophy by mail.
NAHC will also be hosting a series of virtual events through the virtual meeting platform Ringcentral that will commence on October 12th (Indigenous Peoples Day) and run through the week as we celebrate, encourage, and motivate our community. Please look out for our follow-up email containing our schedule of events and meeting log-on information.
