We are very excited to announce the 14th Annual Rumpshaker 5K to be held on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 in Regions Field, Birmingham, AL. We know this has been a challenging 2 years for so many and we are thankful for your continued support of the Rumpshaker organization. Without your support, we would not be able to carry out our mission to raise awareness and provide hope and support to those fighting this disease.  

Registration Options:  All options are eligible for a team discount.
* In-Person 5K event - everyone will be Chip Timed
* Virtual 5K  
* 100 Mile Challenge  
* 200 Mile Challenge  
* Multi-Event (in person 5K plus 100 or 200 Mile Challenge) 

Rumpshaker 5K In-Person Event: 
We are once again excited to host an in-person event as we will have COVID-19 precautions in place for participants, volunteers, and spectators alike.  The race will have a slightly different look for 2022, All In-Person 5K race participants will be chip timed and will start in small “waves” based on the runner's estimated finish time. This year there we will have in-person will be eligible for the $5 team discount along with Virtual 5K and both the 100 and 200 Mile Challenges (teams of 5 participants or more). We encourage you to take advantage of one of the new categories if you or your team members are not comfortable with the in-person event. 

Rumpshaker 5K Virtual Event:  [More Info]
Formerly known as "My Rump is Sleeping In" we have now expanded this category to include the Virtual 5K Race. This is an excellent option for those who would be more comfortable completing the Rumpshaker 5K on their own or with a smaller group of friends and family. You simply pick your date and your route, this option provides flexibility as it is a "do it yourself" 5K. You are encouraged to share your photos with us so we can post them on our social media outlets. This category is eligible for a $5 discount for each team member (teams of 5 participants or more). You will receive the 5K T-Shirt as part of your registration package.

100 Mile Challenge: $45.00  [More Info]
We are so excited to continue this category for 2022, the 100 Mile Challenge!  The challenge is designed for those who would like to stretch themselves while supporting a great cause!  These options are designed for those who would like to challenge themselves while supporting a great cause. The challenge events are designed to be completed over a 3 month period and can be achieved by running, walking, hiking, or biking your selected mileage. All challenge participants will receive a challenge t-shirt, finisher medal, and a printable mileage tracker to help you reach your goal. These categories are eligible for a $5 discount for each team member (teams of 5 participants or more). We highly encourage you to recruit a team and participate in the challenge together by setting up group chats or social media groups to help each team member achieve their goals.

For the ultimate Rumpshaker experience, we are excited to offer the Rumpshaker Challenge / In-Person 5K Multi Event. This event is designed for those who want to stretch themselves while supporting a great cause! The challenge portion of the event is designed to be completed over a 3 month period and can be achieved by running, walking, hiking or biking your selected mileage. Then come join us in person on Saturday, March 27th to finish your last 3.1 miles at the Rumpshaker 5K in-person event. All multi-event participants will receive a challenge t-shirt, 5K t-shirt, challenge finisher medal, and a printable mileage tracker to help you reach your goal. These categories are eligible for a $5 discount for each team member (teams of 5 participants or more). We highly encourage you to recruit a team and participate in the challenge together by setting up group chats or social media groups to help each team member achieve their goals.  Be sure to select 5K In-Person and either the 100 or 200 Mile Challenge to receive your $20 discount (Including Survivor categories).

COVID-19 Precautions:  
We will make every effort to conduct this race in accordance with CDC, state, and local guidelines. CDC Guidelines on how to protect yourself: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html.  We will rely on each runner to conduct themselves with best practices during the global pandemic, including practical physical distancing, avoiding handshakes and high-fives, and wearing facemasks, etc.
Racers will not be expected to wear masks during the race, but need to wear masks prior to and after they complete their event.
Our volunteers will wear facemasks and those working food area and water stations will also wear gloves. 
Additionally, volunteers will be wearing masks at registration, and any time we expect brief interactions closer than 6 feet apart.
Racers will line up the starting line 6 feet approximately apart in waves based on expected finish times.
The race will be chip-timed and will start in small waves.

Please consider bringing your own water (BYOW) this year.  Each Water station will have hand sanitizer.  Water will be poured into cups by masked and gloved volunteers for the participants to pick up off the table.
Everyone has been through a lot this year with the pandemic. We believe it is time to get outdoors and be together… but we also believe that we must do it safely. We are expecting everyone to abide by best practices with us. We know that there are lots of differing views but if you are joining us for this race, please graciously respect the safety and views of everyone around you, and let’s have a great race.

How to wear your Bib-Tag Timing Chip:
All  In-Person 5K participants will be provided a timing chip to produce timed race results. [Click Here] to see details on how to wear your Bib-Tag Timing Chip. Please wear your bib number on the FRONT of your shirt during the race. Remember to bring your bib number on race day. No bib number means no recorded time. The timing chip is located on the backside of your bib number.

Strollers at the Race: If you are participating with a stroller and/or children, we ask that you keep your children with you at all times, and that you start from the back of the "RUN 30 minute or greater" or "WALK ONLY" corrals This will allow your family members, and our other participants, a safer race experience.

Bib Number Transfer and Cancellation Policy:
There are NO refunds of registration fees. Bib number transfers of registration must be completed by March 16, 2022. **If you need to make changes to your registration or transfer to another participant [Click Here] for instructions on how to change your registration. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Rumpshaker, Inc. 

Bandit Policy:
Bandits are unregistered runners or walkers attempting to participate in the run or walk events. Running with No registration is not permitted in the 5K. Please be sure to register for the Rumpshaker 5K so that you can enjoy all that the race has to offer. Everyone in the 5K will need to wear their Bib Number that shows you are a registered participant. All proceeds of the event go to Rumpshaker Inc.
