Short review
Serious and recreational runners, multi-sport athletes, and kids/families, come challenge yourselves at the fifth annual Gainesville Area Rowing Row'd Runner 5k and Duathlon. Participants will run a 5k beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday January 18th followed by a 2k row on an indoor rowing machine. Participants may compete in the 5k/2k duathlon, the 5k run only, or the 2k erg only. All proceeds will benefit Gainesville Area Rowing, a non- profit corporation promoting rowing as a sport for high school students, middle school students, and adults in the Gainesville and Alachua County area.
Registration includes a T- shirt if registered by January 4th. More age categories: 0-18, 19-39, 40-59, 60+ for both Men and Women! Medals for top 3 in each age group plus additional prizes for top 3 overall in the duathlon! All participants entered for FREE raffle of great prizes from our sponsors and donors!
Due to a limited number of rowing machines, the 2k erg race will be run in waves of 20 participants and the Duathlon will have a field limit of 100.
Never been on a rowing machine? Now is your chance to try and experienced rowers will be available before, after, and during the event to offer advice on your technique. Come join us and row and run to help support Gainesville Area Rowing
