Support local natural areas and wildlife at the first VIRTUAL Rock Springs Ramble 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run!
This fundraiser supports the Macon County Conservation Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps fund natural area restoration and educational programs at the Macon County Conservation District, and its Rock Springs Nature Center.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, continued outdoor gathering restrictions, and your health and safety in mind, the planning committee has decided to make the 2021 Rock Springs Ramble a VIRTUAL event. If you need to request a REFUND, the deadline is Friday, MARCH 19. (Click on the "Refund Policy" tab above to request your refund.)
Virtual events give you the flexibility of choosing when and where you’d like to complete your walk or run.
You are invited to run/walk on your own at 1) Rock Springs Conservation Area, 2) your favorite natural area, or 3) any other location, on any day of your choosing. For more places to walk or run, check out our full list of conservation areas. You may still run/walk at Rock Springs on Saturday, April 10, but it will be “on your own” and not officially timed or organized.
COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of natural areas, and our need for fresh air and space in nature. By registering to run or walk, you support these natural areas and their wildlife. In addition, those registered for the 5k and 1-mile Fun Run, will receive a finishers medal, cloth buff, and a hand-painted wildlife rock award, created by local artist Sheryl Polley. Children registered for the Kid’s Fun Run will receive a tree cookie and a nature grab bag item.
Registration is $30/5K and 1 mile Fun Run or $5/Kid’s Fun Run.
You may pick up your items at your convenience from inside Rock Springs Nature Center, any time during normal Nature Center hours, from now through the end of April.
