Short review

I am happy to report the 2020 Ferncliff Forest Turkey Trot is going to happen!!  

There will be a 350 runner limit. So enter early!  All 350 will get a soft cotton T shirt.

All these changes are designed to keep us socially distanced to prevent the spread. Hopefully next year things will be back to normal. 

When 
Thursday Nov 26th, 2020 - Thanksgiving Morning  8:00am  to 9:00am  Chip timed Rolling start. Runners will be started, spaced apart, every 10 seconds or so until all have started. That's the reason for the multiple start times. 50 runners will be started during each 10 minute block.  Families / households can be started together.  Masks should be worn in the start area until you start running.

The First Baptist Church,  9 Astor Dr, (Corner of Astor and Montgomery) Rhinbeck NY.   

The Course 
All on Paved road- Montgomery St /Mt Rutsen Road from Astor Dr. to Ferncliff Forest and back. Paved road course out and back. Gentle rolling Hills.
Classes
Male and Female
Ages 1-10,  11-14,  15-19,  20-29,  30-39,  40-49,  50-59,  60-69,  70+
Awards  
Awards to top 3 overall male and female finishers, top 3 male and female age group finishers. All Kids under 10 will receive an award. Medals will be mailed to winners this year. There will be no awards ceremony.
Registering
Sign up will be online only. We expect to sell out before race day. We are limited to 350 runners half our usual participation. 
Before the Event
-If you have COVID related symptoms please stay home. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
-We recommend high-risk individuals and individuals traveling from high infection areas to consider not attending our event.
Packet Pick-Up
We will not be using the hall, all activities will be outside on the Baptist Church lawn. We will have a limited number of Porta Potties 

Please try to pick up your bib and shirt the night before.

-Option #1: Pick up your bib and shirt at the tent in the Baptist Church parking lot, 9 Astor Drive, Rhinebeck. Wed Nov 25th  between 4:30pm and 8:00pm. You must wear a mask while picking up your items and stay six feet away from other people in line. Please try to attend the Wednesday night pick-up option if possible. 
-Option #2: Race Day bib pick-up. There will be a tent on the Baptist church lawn. You must wear a mask while picking up your items and stay six feet away from other people in line. 
Rolling Start
-Choose your rolling start time online prior to race day. Please arrive as close to your start time as possible. Allow a little extra time if you need to pick up your bib morning of. Please wait at your car if you arrive early.
-You will have a 10-minute window to start your event. The rolling start will help from congregating at the start line and avoid overcrowding during the run. We have chip timing so when you cross the start mat your race will officially begin, and it will end when you cross the finish mat. Your time will not necessarily be the time displayed on the clock.
Start Line
-We will be spreading runners out while waiting to start , socially distanced, down the street. All participants need to wear masks at the start line until they cross the start mat. Once they cross the start mat, they may take their mask off. Please wait at your car till 5 min before your start time to come to the start area. Don't worry Because of the chip timing you can't be late.
On Course
-When passing another racer, please announce your presence and intent to pass. Try your best to socially distance on the course. 
Finish Line
-Once racers have finished your event, we ask that they do not linger at the finish line. 
-Unfortunately, there will be no awards ceremony or post-race party. All age group awards will be mailed to participants after the race.
-Results will be posted online the same morning or texted to you if you wish. Medals will be mailed to class winners or can be picked up at Staley Real Estate.
Spectators
-We ask that all spectators maintain proper social distancing from the runners during the event. If you cannot do so, you must wear a mask.
