Welcome to the 3rd Annual Carolina Reaper Challenge event! We are pleased to bring a new and exciting twist to three different distances including the 50k, the full marathon, and half marathon distance. This will be great for the first time finishers of these distances as well as give a new challenge to all the speed demons out there!

  Start of 50k @ 11:00am Lap 1 - 11:00amLap 2 - 11:45am Start of Marathon & Relay @ 12:30pm Lap 3 - 12:30pmLap 4 - 1:15pmLap 5 - 2:00pmLap 6 - 2:45pm Start of Half Marathon & Ruck @ 3:30pm Lap 7 - 3:30pmLap 8 - 4:15pmLap 9 - 5:00pmLap 10 - 5:45pm Start of 2 Lap Race @ 6:30pm Lap 11 - 6:30pmLap 12 - 7:15pm   Connect With Us Facebook Event Facebook Group  Facebook Page Facebook Photo    Results PAST RESULTS   Carolina Reaper Race Format The race loop is 2.62 miles from start to finish.  Each race has a designated number of loops to complete 50k (12 Loops) Marathon (10 Loops) Half Marathon (5 Loops) The Timer will Ring a Kettle Bell starting at 11am He will continue to ring the bell 12 times every 45 minutes At the beginning of each loop runners will  given 45 minutes to complete the loop.  If a runner fails to complete the loop under 45 minutes they will be disqualified  All runners must wait until the top of the 45 minute mark to start their next loop.  If you complete your loop in 25 minutes you will have to wait 20 minutes before the next loop.  If you complete your loop in 40 minutes you will have a 5 minute break. Packet Pickup will start 60 minute prior to the start of each distance! Apparel will be for sale on race day. Race Day registration is also available but I will warn you now, you will not like the price. Best bet is to register now!   Race Swag All race participants will receive an Upstate Ultra Sticker and a unique wooden finisher award. Not everyone likes shirts so we have provided an option to purchase an Upstate Ultra Tri-Blend Shirt, Performance Socks, Trucker Hat, or Trail Buff. Change your mind? Update your swag item for this race by following these steps HERE   Race Awards Top 3 Male and Female will receive a custom hand made award by our partner of Next Up Opportunity! Each finisher will receive a finisher medal that will be branded with the race logo and come with a custom race patch on the backside! We will also publish our age group results that will coincide with our Race Series. To learn more about our race series and awards please visit our results page here: HERE   Address and Parking The race is located at Shaver Recreation Complex and runners can park at the following address: 698 W South 4th St, Seneca, SC 29678.   Relay Teams One runner per team may run at a given time Runners may run consecutive laps 2 Person teams (a single runner can complete a maximum of 6 laps) 3 Person teams (a single runner can complete a maximum of 4 laps) 4 Person teams (a single runner can complete no more than 3 laps)   Aid Stations No aid station until further notice to help prevent the direct contact between people and the spread of the virus. Please make preparations for all nutritional needs (water & food)   Eco-Standard In an effort to be good stewards to mother nature we will not have any of the following items at ANY of our events. This is in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint being placed by endurance events throughout the world. Please have a cup or hydration bottle if you will need to consume water/nutrition during the event. Please bring your own fork/spoon for any post race meals. Please bring your own bags for items collected at the race. Please make use of old safety pins or our new Bib Boards that will be available for the timing chip only.  No Cups No Plates No Safety Pins No Plastic Spoons/Forks No Plastic Packet Pickup Bags
