2021 This Race is for the Birds! An In-Person & Virtual Event 2024

Short review

Join us for the 21st Anniversary of “This Race is for the Birds!” with both in-person and virtual options.  We are so grateful to all who register and support this important fundraiser for Potomac Valley Audubon Society.  Getting outdoors and staying active and healthy is important for all of us.

This year we are offering several virtual events including a 5K, 10K, and Kids 1-mile Fun event as we explore new options to stay active and safe during concerns of COVID 19.  Virtual participants can choose between running, walking, biking, horseback riding or another way to complete the distances.  Virtual participants will email their results and will then be entered into a drawing for prizes.  Kids will be emailed a certificate of completion.

We are also offering in-person 5K and 10K options in hopes COVID will permit a limited number of participants to run the trails at Broomgrass on April 17, 2021.  Participants will be notified of their staggered start time.  We know many of you continue to train long and hard for this cross-country course. In person participants can use our Strava segment to record their 10K and 5K times, or self-time and email their results.  Sign up for these events and enjoy the adventure of running or walking on non-technical cross country trails that wind through fields and woods of Broomgrass Farm and along beautiful Back Creek. COVID permitting.
