Short review
The Port City Run has been a fixture of the summer season in Frankfort sine 1979. With three different events there literally is something for everyone- 5K race, 5K walk and a 1 Mile Family Fun Run. The Port City Run is located in the City of Frankfort which is in Northwest Michigan on the Western Shore of Lake Michigan.
All of the events for 2020 follow the Betsie Valley Trail along the shoreline of Betsie Bay. The course heads south out of Frankfort toward the village of Elberta before bending back around and returning to the finish back in Frankfort. For those who would like to participate but aren't interested in racing, the Port City Walk is the perfect option. This non-timed 5K walk follows the same course as the race and provides a great way to start off the day.
Awards in the 5K race will go to the top overall male & female runners, top masters male & female (40-59) and top grand masters male & female (60+). Awards will also be given to the top 3 in 15 age-group divisions including 0-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+
Packet Pick Up will be on race day at Mineral Springs Park Pavilion, 600 Main Street, Frankfort MI on Saturday, July 18th, from 7-8:45am.
Funds raised from the event will help support the Frankfort-Elberta Area Varsity Cross Country, Football and Track programs. Go Panthers!!
