Short review

Welcome Families to Picket State Park- one of the best kept secret locations in east TN!

This weekend is for Knoxville Endurance members AND families who wish to participate in a weekend away with great people, great scenery and of course great running terrain!  The park sits right off to the side of a 12-acre lake in the outskirts of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.  This park is minimally known despite its pristine lake, unique rock formations as well as secretly owning a spectacular star-lit-sky with low/ no light pollution for an incredible evening backdrop!  There are many great day hikes and short trails on the property as well as dirt logging roads accessible immediately off the property available to run on.

Campers have the option of staying on-site in Cabin Bunk houses which provide accommodations for 150 guests (Bed Capacity), or you may so choose to bring personally owned Recreation vehicles or choose to go primitive with tent camping on-site.  For individuals and families staying in the bunks, you will need to provide your own linens  and some toiletries during your stay (Twin - Double size mattress).

Price is $20 for each individual staying the evening at the park.  This price helps to cover rental fees, dinner on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday morning and some light snacks as well (more info on meals to be announced as the date approaches).  Outside food/ beverage is allowed so long as we can keep the park as clean as we find it! 

Knoxville Endurance has rented the park and its bunk houses from from August 7th- 9th, campers can choose to stay just Friday night with their families, or, both Friday and Saturday nights if they would like- but will need to plan accordingly as meals are not included after breakfast on Saturday.  There is no price difference for staying 1 night versus 2 nights on the property.
