Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust 50th Anniversary Trail Run/Walk 2021

Short review

This year's race is a postponed celebration of 50 years of open space at the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust!   We are offering a 1 mile walk and 5K run with food, beverages and music to enjoy the summer night.  Our event will be managed within guidelines for social distancing and maximum group size.  At this point we will have to limit the number of participants to 225, so please sign up and secure your spot!

You can participate virtually this year as well!  If you can't join us on July 14th but still want to support PERT, choose the virtual run/walk!  You can use can complete the 5K or 1 mile anywhere. You can download the Racejoy app for pacing at each mile, virtual cheers along the journey, and results submission.  Don't want to run with your phone - no problem!  Just simply submit your results directly into Runsignup. 

Course: A scenic, rolling hills course on grass and gravel that is great for both beginners and “seasoned” trailblazers.  The courses begin and end at the headquarters. Since this is a run on nature’s trails, the course will be as close to 1 mile and 5K as we can get!

Giveaways: Your race entry fee includes a race t-shirt! Guarantee your size before 7/1/21. Refreshments, prizes, and music after the race. Children 12 and under are free. Virtual participants will be ineligible for t-shirt and medal giveaways due to capacity limits.

Our Mission Statement/other info:  Founded in 1970, the mission of the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust is to steward the Pennypack Preserve natural area as an important component of the region’s natural areas network, and to educate and encourage people to appreciate, enjoy, and protect the preserve’s native ecosystems. This 3rd annual trail run/walk will help protect the 852 acres of open space the Pennypack Preserve encompasses. The funds will help to sustain the wildlife habitat, native plant communities, and spectacular views so many have enjoyed during this past year's pandemic.
